Information only
Shifterati describes vehicle models year by year, from the sources it cites. It is general information for learning and research. It is not professional, mechanical, legal, financial or safety advice, and nothing on the site is advice about a particular vehicle.
Shifterati is not a price guide and does not say what any vehicle is worth.
No promise that it is complete or correct
The site is offered as it is, without any warranty, stated or implied, including any warranty that it is accurate, complete, current or fit for a purpose. Sources can be wrong, makers changed things part way through a year, and one vehicle can differ from what was usual for its model.
Warnings, issues and opinions are reputation, labelled as such, and say who said so. A missing warning does not mean a vehicle is free of that problem.
Check the vehicle in front of you
Before you buy, have the vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic, read its service records and get a history report.
Recall lists on this site may be incomplete or out of date. Look up the vehicle's VIN on the NHTSA recall site, nhtsa.gov/recalls, or ask a dealer of the make.
The buyer's checklists and the inspection sheet are reminders of what to look at. They are not an inspection and do not replace one.
Working on a vehicle is your own risk
Nothing here is a repair guide. Lifting a vehicle, fuel systems, airbags, brakes and high-voltage batteries can injure or kill. Follow the maker's service manual, or leave the work to a qualified mechanic.
Limit of liability
As far as the law allows, Shifterati and the people who run it are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or relying on it, including a decision to buy, sell, repair or drive a vehicle. Where the law does not allow a limit like this, it applies only as far as the law does allow.
Names, badges, photos and sources
Shifterati is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any carmaker, dealer, seller or other site it cites. Model names, badges and logos belong to their owners and are used only to say which vehicle is meant.
Each photo belongs to the person credited beside it and is used under the license shown. Quoted words belong to their source and follow that source's terms.
Links to other sites are there so you can read the source. Shifterati does not control those sites and is not responsible for what they say or do.
Feedback you send
A note sent through the feedback form may be used, without payment or credit, to correct or improve the site. Please leave your name and contact details out: there is no way to reply.
Support
Support is a voluntary gift to help keep the site running. It buys nothing, and every dossier stays free whether you give or not. Payments are handled on the payment provider's own page, under its terms.
Privacy
The site keeps no record of who reads which page, beyond what its host needs to serve it. It shows no ads that follow you and runs no analytics.

These terms may change. The date at the top says when they last did. Using the site after a change means you accept the terms as they then stand.
