Fox internal-bypass shocks

Also called internal-bypass shocks, Fox shocks

Fox shock absorbers that change their damping with where they are in their travel: comfort in the middle, more support near the ends.

The story

History: facts, each with its source

Fox says its internal bypass lets oil flow around the piston at set points in the stroke, giving the damping suited to where the shock is in its travel. A ride zone gives comfort over rough ground, a catch zone gives more support to catch landings and resist body roll, and a bottom-out zone gives the most support against big hits.1
